So my old laptop got fried and I had to buy a new one, I got a brand new HP this time and I'm very pleased with it, it plays with Ubuntu much better than my iBook did and I've had no issues with the wifi card. So far so good.

It only took me about ten hours to get the audio working, but other than that I'm glad I got it going on.

Hopefully everyone is good, and I'll make it to the nano ending party...

Yet another drunken texted LJ Post I'm going to New Brunswick on thursday w00t! My dad is retiring it'll be awsome!

I have mastered the basics of Linux. Now I can get wireless all over the house finally, and all it took was a clean install. My laptop is super fast on it and all I can feel is love.

Maybe now I can exit computer hacking hell and start socializing on it again, the trackpad is still a minor pain in the ass but I've realized that the command line is my friend, Ubuntu is the future, get in on it now.

So this has been a long strange haul, for the last couple of weeks or so I've been trying to get Ubuntu working with my iBook Airport Extreme card.

I finally have it working most of the time, although it's still quite finicky but I do have it working consistently (in a manner of speaking for linux I guess)

So far so good.

Perhaps I will be je-joining the community, however my computer usage lately has been about technical accomplishments and not necessarily about socializing. I've been obsessed with getting Linux working, connecting to the Internet but now that I have the internet connected I'm not really into using it.

K so I left my cellphone in the cab last night, but fortunately my friend called my cell and spoke to the cabbie on my behalf.

After which the cabbie called us and returned my cell phone to me, which is good, because ultimately I'm waiting for the neo1973

I thought I was going to lose it, it was crazy and yeah panic all around but panic averted now.

Also I will be posting more shortly, because I've committed the ultimate heresy of installing Linux on my Apple laptop. and although it took me forever to get the AirPort Card working I now have it working. And that's sweet, next thing I gotta get on there now is wpa_supplicant so I can actually use wireless encryption.

So yeah busy time, life with Daniela is still good, as you can all tell by my lack on LJ-ing.

OK, so now that I've had the opportunity to soil myself with the latest M$ has to offer let me say this: Vista Blows, IE 7 Blows. IE 7 is Firefox's retarded cousin, and Vista is a develepmentally challenged version of OS X.

You would think that after every single imaginable screw up done by M$, that they would learn a lesson, but no, what they do, is make a program that looks like what they're trying to copy, and put M$ guts inside it.

What a rip... I'm glad I drank the Apple Kool Aid a long time ago.

So far so good. I'm happy about WNP, although still a resident at my soon to be former residence I'm pretty much living in my new place full time.

I'm happy, my job, although educational is kinda HM and I'm trying to develop a plan for self-employment ASAP.

Other than that I'm just spending lots of time with my new S.O. which is great, and yeah, not much to rant about. Now that the weather is better and I keep daylight hours I'm spending lots of time outside, and being happy.

Yeah, so no misery, not a lot of LJ content.

So I was talking to my S.O. and we (well I, but she was egging me on) cause we kept getting warnings about falling ice from the skyscrapers and this is the idea I came up with:

Call it the Winter city version of Russian Roulette:

Some guy stands next to a skyscraper; And rest of the gamblers put 50$ into the pot.

You place bets, on how long the person stays there without a piece of ice falling on his/her head. The closest without going over wins the money. If he doesn't get hit, the person standing there wins.

Anyways, after getting fairly consistent emails about this, I'm as aware of the dangers of falling ice as I am about smoking, and not wearing a seatbelt.

Hey everyone, new job is going well, I'm doing great and I hope I can catch up at some point. I have a lot of stuff on the go, I'm learning tons and basically have decided that my new career is to be a financial magnate.

Surprisingly I haven't really spent a lot of time on the internet, I'm just living it up and enjoying every second of it, New Years was a blast I'm dreading putting my resolutions in order and I'm doing ok other wise, there's a lot of online stuff I've wanted to update (pictures, thoughts, feelings,) but I'm too effin' busy to do anything online.

When I'm not working I'm in transit, and when I'm not in Transit I'm either cooking or walking the dog. (among other things) so I don't know what to do about this.

Looking forward to reading more about everyone.

So far, with the freshly resurected iPod I've installed cLinux and it seems to be liking it ok, what a weird day it's been.

Tomorrow I start work full time so here's hoping that I pull this off OK.

Today we managed to replace a battery for an iPod Photo, something Carbon Computing warned us not to do, so far the iPod seems happy and it hasn't exploded...

Professional requirement my ass.

So I had good times at Virgin mobile, but now I'm off to a real job for a huge company, which interestingly enough the guy I'm replacing got transferred to the Bahamas.

So I'm looking forward to this, details to follow once this actually starts.

It may also mean a casual return to LiveJournal.

Anyways, I know that some people here may use this so here goes:

I bought a 1 GB SD (not micro SD) card for my phone, but my phone doesn't take SD cards it only takes MMC cards I paid 20$ for it, and I can't get refunds on Memory.

So if anyone wants it I'm selling it for 15$ cash, first come first serve. I'll meet someone downtown if they want it.
